LOCAL HOUSING, COMMUNITY LIVING: PROSPECTS FOR SCALING UP AND SCALING OUT COMMUNITY-LED HOUSING

Topic: The event will provide the opportunity to discuss a major new piece of research by the Institute examining the prospects for scaling up and scaling out community-led housing. Based on over 40 in-depth interviews, surveys and discussions the report sets out the main barriers to growth and what needs to change to enable local communities to provide the homes they need.

The speakers will be:

Clive Betts MP (Chair, Communities and Local Government Select Committee), Catherine Harrington (Director, National Community Land Trust Network), Dinah Roake (Trustee, Brixton Green), Andrew Heywood (Research Fellow, Smith Institute and report author), and David Ireland (Director, Building and Social Housing Foundation).
